Crash (2004) HOME
Don’t talk to me unless you speak American  -  Loretta Devine as Shaniqua
1 2 3 H  (Top 3 Society Films)

Won Best Picture over Brokeback Mountain, which ironically (because the film argues for tolerance) led some to accuse Oscar voters of homophobia
The second film in history to win a Best Picture Oscar without having a Golden Globe nomination in the same category.
Inspired by a true incident in which the director’s automobile was carjacked in 1991

Crash asks viewers to think over various societal prejudices and ultimately to recognize your own – recognitions that would hope to enlighten us.

Direction by Paul Haggis keeps the intertwining stories uncontrived and some attain a strong emotional impact.

Original and surprising.  Most who saw Crash liked it, and more importantly, they talked about it..
